about
This is not actually a Choking Victim song, but most of the lyrics made it through to the final version of “Hate Yer State”. This IS a demo that I (stza) recorded on a Tascam 4-track analog “cassette” machine while I was in No Commercial Value. I believe that John Dolan lent me a drum set & so I started there, not having any idea about what music would go over the beat. When NCV made a cassette demo (our only release), I would sometimes throw this along with a demo that I recorded for “War Story”, which NCV actually played about halfway through our short “career” before evaporating. Luckily, Sascha “Scatter” would not let me keep the band name No Commercial Value for our new endeavor(which had actually started as him joining on bass in NCV when Alec left to form Agent 99) & so, I asked John Dolan if I could borrow the first aid poster that loomed over his post at San Loco on 2nd avenue (when it was across from the Orpheum theater). I returned 20 minutes later with our new band name & logo & legend has it that the health inspector came by that same day which would have been disastrous if the Choking Victim poster was not there.
lyrics
Greed from deep inside
Fuels this government of lies
They try to tell you
But they really sell you
What they can defile you inside
The public is shocked by the people’s opinions they crush your organs & foreclose your dominions and you always stand there a reader digesting you never bother to ask any questions I know my rights, get out of my way, I won’t fall for the lies that you say, you want me to sit, you want me to pray, but then it will be me that will pay one god, undividable, to serve the government, undeniable Hate your state (5x) all you pigs feeling authority, go fuck yourselves, you’ll never catch me, harass someone else, a reader digesting, you won’t have any trouble, they don’t ask any questions hate your state (etc.)
